Core purpose

  • To coordinate and control aviation filling operations to maximise efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of product and service quality.

  • To ensure effective oversight and control of all Tank Farm activities, always maintaining operational integrity.

  • To uphold strict adherence to safety, compliance, and maintenance procedures, ensuring all activities are carried out in line with company and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Principal duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure transloading activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.

  • Liaise with the Operations Supervisor to ensure work priorities are clearly understood and effectively executed.

  • Ensure aviation tanks are thoroughly inspected prior to filling and dispatch.

  • Unload bulk tanker chemicals and complete all associated documentation accurately and in line with company procedures.

  • Ensure all daily and weekly maintenance checks are completed accurately and documented.

  • Conduct sampling and testing of all inbound and outbound tanks in line with quality control standards.

  • Coordinate control room inputs (PLC/HMI) to ensure safe and efficient execution of transloading activities.

  • Load and unload third-party transport using a forklift truck.

  • Ensure all safety, environmental, and quality control procedures are rigorously always maintained.

  • Complete all required paperwork accurately for aviation orders.

  • Ensure the yard is maintained in a safe, clean, and organised condition.

  • Coordinate and carry out additional ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Management Team.

COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards):

  • Undertake allocated tasks in accordance with training and operating procedures, reporting any concerns to the Operations Supervisor.

QHSE responsibilities

To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.

Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences

  • Chemical handling experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Previous laboratory experience is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

  • Previous experience working in a yard or operational environment.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

  • Strong team working skills, contributing positively to operational goals and maintaining good working relationships.

  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Dangerous Goods (DG) by Sea experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Certification in Working at Height and Confined Space with Rescue is preferred but not essential.

  • Forklift certification is preferred but not essential.
