Core purpose

The Equipment Technician will carry out a variety of tasks, including maintenance, necessary repairs, and assembly of generator pods to support the preparation of project equipment packages.

The role also includes responsibility for the maintenance and lifecycle management of all related operational equipment.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Coordinate and manage the preparation of all project equipment requirements.

Prepare and ensure the efficient operation and dispatch quality of rental generators and associated equipment.

Perform routine maintenance, including regular engine servicing in line with manufacturer schedules and conducting load testing.

Produce accurate and timely reports on dispatched and returned equipment.

Carry out Pre-Delivery Tests and Inspections to the highest standards.

Identify and plan tasks methodically to ensure equipment dispatch targets are met.
QHSE responsibilities
To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.
Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences

Proven ability to diagnose faults in diesel engines and associated electrical systems.

Ability to work with and understand standby generators from 20kVA to 200kVA.

Experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and associated electrical systems.

High attention to detail with proven ability to fault-find, organise and plan own workload effectively.

Ability to think through problems logically, both independently and as part of a team.

Maintains a calm, professional manner with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.

Proficient in IT and computer use for managing software, reports and recording-keeping.

Qualifications
-
Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical disciples are required.
Proven experience working with diesel engines and electrical systems.
