Custom fitted and internationally certified ROV control and workshop modules
Overview
OEG was engaged by our global customer for dedicated workspace modules for daily ROV operations and maintenance aboard their drillship.
Challenges
The drillship’s global operations required the modules to meet multiple international standards and regulatory requirements, adding complexity to the design and compliance process.
Solution
OEG’s projects and engineering team worked closely with the customer on the designs, our experience in custom-build module solutions allowed us to execute the project efficiently, meeting the customer’s expectations and timely delivery of:
ROV control module
c/w safety monitoring systems incorporated including integrated fire and gas, pressurisation and emergency shutdown systems and associated electrical equipment suitable for Zone 2 application with air-conditioning, workstation and furnishings included to suit customer’s requirements
ROV workshop module
c/w safety monitoring systems incorporated including integrated fire and gas, pressurisation and emergency shutdown systems and associated electrical equipment suitable for Zone 2 application with air-conditioning, heavy duty workbench, tool cabinets, storage cabinets and coshh cabinets included to suit customer’s requirements.
Both modules were stackable to optimize deck space and certified to DNV 2.7-1, DNV 2.7-2, ABS and SOLAS/IMO with an A60 fire rating ensuring safe offshore transport and operation to international standards and regulatory requirements. OEG handled the entire certification and documentation process, this is managed efficiently through extensive experience and mature working relations with certification bodies.
The successful management and delivery of this project resulted in our customer ordering an additional two modules, proving OEG as a reliable and trustworthy partner.
