Job role
OEG operates a fleet of windfarm support vessels ranging from 21 – 26m LOA and as an Engineer your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Notifying the Master immediately of any defects which may detrimentally affect ship’s or environmental safety
- Maintaining clean and orderly condition of machinery spaces
- The Engineer is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the ship's machinery. They will monitor machinery performance at regular intervals and ensure that all machinery is running within its specified limits
- Ensuring sufficient quantity of fuel, lubricating oils, critical spares are on board for the safe completion of any intended voyage. Monitoring and recording the consumption of fuel and lubricants
- Supervising the bunkering of fuel and lubricating oils
- Preparation of requests for shore labour assistance and subsequent supervision of the work/repairs out with the scope of on board personnel
- Preparation and upkeep of records and reports of mechanical defects
- Assist with supervision of all major refits
- Monitoring and logging of machinery running hours
- Carry out mooring operations as required
- Assist with cargo operations as required
- Assist with storing, crane operations etc. as required
- Assist with other ship operations as directed including refuelling of assets
QHSE responsibilities
To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.
Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences
To be considered for this role, candidates should have the following as a minimum:
- Engineers Certificate of Competence
- Minimum 1 year-experience in a similar role
- All basic STCW training, and Seafarer’s Medical certification to be valid within the mandatory requirements
- Slinger Banksman training within the last 5 years
- Confident interpersonal communication skills are important as well as being a team player
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to think problems through logically
- A calm and professional manner
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
