OEG’s business consists of several individual companies offering diverse services and products. The role holder will be responsible for managing operations and assets locally, as well as supporting commercial and project operational activities as needed.

Core purpose

The Operations and Asset Manager will play a crucial role in managing local operations and asset management for projects in Taiwan, while also providing support for operations and project delivery in other APAC countries until local teams are established. This position requires strong collaboration with project teams and the local operations team to ensure successful project execution.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Principal duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

1.    Local Operations Management

  • Oversee and manage local support to project teams, collaborating closely with them to deliver projects effectively.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project teams, providing operational support and guidance

2.    Asset Management

  • Manage local assets, including equipment, project tools, and operational bases (open yard and warehouse).
  • Establish and maintain an asset management system to track and manage all equipment and tools effectively.
  • With support from the group service teams and necessary external suppliers, manage and maintain all equipment and tools in the operations yard, ensuring their proper use, storage, and upkeep.
  • Operate machinery in the operations yard, including forklifts, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational guidelines.

3.    Team Leadership

  • Lead the local operations team, which includes warehouse operators and operations/project support specialists.
  • Provide direction and guidance to team members, ensuring alignment with project objectives and operational standards

4.    Shore-Based Support

  • Oversee shore-based operations, including logistics, transport, and administrative tasks related to project delivery.
  • Ensure smooth collaboration between offshore technicians, ROV technicians, high voltage engineers, and other specialized personnel

5.    Regulatory Compliance

  • Collaborate closely with the HSEQ Manager to ensure all local operations comply with local regulations and group policies.
  • Implement and manage operational procedures and documentation for the open yard and warehouse in line with regulatory requirements

6.    Supply Chain Management

  • Establish and manage local supply chain processes, ensuring effective procurement and resource allocation to support project needs.
  • Provide adequate guidance and support to the project and commercial teams when requesting supply chain assistance

7.    Operational System Establishment

  • Develop and implement a local operations system, including necessary documentation and procedures for yard and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure that the system aligns with local regulations and group policies

8.    Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the focal point for local operations, supporting project teams and commercial teams in stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery

9.    Oversight of Additional Operations Bases

  • Manage operations at additional leased/rented bases as required by project teams, ensuring compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee the rental of vehicles, tools, and other resources, providing guidance to project teams prior to lease or rental agreements

10.    Continuous Improvement

  • Identify areas for operational improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project execution.
  • Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence within the local operations team

QHSE responsibilities

To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.

Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences

Key skills and attributes required to add value to the business include:

  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably within the offshore, renewable energy, or construction sectors.
  • Strong understanding of local regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible approach to work in order to support colleagues and meet departmental deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong working relationships.
  • Capability to work independently in developing documentation, procedures, and execution structures.

Qualifications

Essential / Desirable qualifications required include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS office suite.
  • Excellent oral and written Chinese and English
  • Desirable: Good oral Taiwanese/Hokkien
  • Desirable: Forklift driving license
