Core purpose

  •  To provide, carry out, create, and collect information, procedures, drawings and work instructions. 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Projects:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the project’s technical and commercial aspects, ensuring full awareness of the defined scope of work as outlined by Project, Diving, ROV, and Rope Access Managers. 

  • Compile project-specific procedures, engineering and technical specifications, operation and test manuals, maintenance procedures, and work instructions as required to support project delivery. 

  • Implement and coordinate approved modifications, ensuring all changes are properly documented and reflected in the relevant project documentation. 

  • Liaise with and coordinate the activities of vendors and sub-contractors as required to support project delivery, while operating without commercial authority. 

  • Supervise activities assigned to third-party contractors, including preparation of scopes of work, site supervision, approval of deliverables, and ensuring compliance with project objectives and targets. 

  • Support project delivery through the development and implementation of equipment and tooling solutions to meet project demands. 

  • Participate in daily project meetings and toolbox talks while offshore to ensure good communication and coordination with Vessel Superintendent, Project Team, Diving, ROV, and Rope Access Supervisors, and the Client where applicable. 

  • Assist in planning and coordinating project mobilisations and demobilisations to ensure smooth and efficient operations. 

Operational: 

  • Develop and review operational documentation in accordance with the Company’s QHSE standards. 

  • Act as Project Coordinator for designated smaller-scale projects.

  • Oversee and verify the proper application and treatment of engineering materials within the design.  

  • Propose, develop, and promote technical suggestions to improve overall project engineering and operational efficiency. 

  • Collaborate with other engineers to guarantee all design work aligns with the shared goal of optimising final cost and schedule. 

  • Stay informed about ongoing developments in the field, including new products and technologies. 

  • Develop familiarity with vessel and ROV operations and limitations to enhance design, operational scheduling, procedures, and safety. 

  • Perform all activities in compliance with the IMS Policy, Procedures, and Work Instructions. 

  • Provide technical support and assessment during the tender phase of projects. 

QHSE responsibilities

To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.

Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar role. 

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards. 

  • Understanding of technical quality aspects. 

  • Experience using CAD software systems. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Offshore industry experience is desirable but not required. 

  • SCC (VCA) certification. 

  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. 

  • SCC (VCA) certification.
