Core purpose

  • As part of the project delivery team, the Project Planner plays a key role in the successful design, development, and execution of both offshore and onshore projects.

  • This position is responsible for planning and coordinating all project activities, ensuring work is scheduled, monitored, and delivered in line with agreed timelines, budgets, and processes.

  • Acting as the roadmap owner, the Project Planner identifies and mitigates risks, manages resources, and helps guide the team to stay on track whilst ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and effectively from initiation to completion.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project planning documentation, including tender schedules, detailed offshore schedules, and as-built analysis.

  • Estimate the project timeline and keep schedules on track by creating detailed baseline schedules that outline tasks, milestones, and deadlines.

  • Estimating and allocating resources such as labour, materials, and equipment.

  • Create and maintain project records including schedule data metrics, and reports ensuring all data captured is accurate and meets the specific requirements.

  • Track and report key planning metrics, including progress S-curves, lookahead reports, and monthly reports.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing input and feedback on process enhancements and potential business opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Tendering and Engineering to ensure smooth project execution, troubleshoot schedule and timeline issues and escalate them to the team.

QHSE responsibilities

To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.

Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences

  • Previous experience in project coordination within the industry is preferred.

  • The role requires a proactive and confident individual with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Experience of working in a project or programme management environment, with responsibility for delivery or controls of individual projects, programmes or portfolios.

  • Experience using controls/planning software applications such as Primavera (P6), Oracle Primavera Cloud, Power BI, Microsoft Project and Office Applications.

  • Reliable with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

  • Strong time management skills, quick thinking, and ability to meet project deadlines as necessary.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Controls principles.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Project Management, or similar).

  • Some experience in a project control or planning environment, ideally within the renewables sector.
