Core purpose

Conducting comprehensive analyses and effectively utilizing marine survey data within Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This includes the preparation of detailed technical reports, which encompass desktop studies, thorough engineering reports, and in-depth technical risk assessments focused on identifying natural, anthropogenic, and environmental hazards. Additionally, performing site visits to cable landing points is essential to gather firsthand observations and ensure accurate data collection and analysis.

QHSE responsibilities

To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.

Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences

  • 5+ years’ experience in subsea telecom, marine geophysical survey or offshore renewables
  • MakaiPlan/ARCGIS and/or QGIS
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Experience in marine cable route survey acquisition and data processing.
  • AutoCAD and digital terrain modelling
  • Cable burial risk assessment, experience of ploughing, trenching and ROV jetting tools
  • Marine permitting - desk top research and acquisition

Qualifications

  • A Hydrographic Survey, Marine Geophysics or Geomatics/Geographic Information Science Degree is essential
  • A Master’s degree in marine geoscience discipline is desirable
