Core purpose
The core purpose of Yard Technician is to maintain the CCU rental fleet by conducting regular scheduled on-site visits to inspect equipment and verify certifications and equipment conditions.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Maintain the large format tank rental fleet by performing regularly scheduled on-site visits to check equipment certifications and equipment conditions to ensure the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of tanks.

Perform detailed inspections on large format tanks to ensure that the equipment remains at an acceptable level of operation.

Maintain an adequate amount of stock parts on the service truck to accommodate parts replacement and repairs.

Provide customer support by answering questions, performing follow-up courtesy calls, and documenting customer complaints.

Maintain company vehicle by renewing inspection tags, licenses, and performing preventive maintenance according to the formal preventive maintenance system.

Perform the required work according to a regular schedule but also be available on call to service customer needs regarding rental equipment.

Perform work in a timely manner, prioritizing time according to the needs of the system, and quickly completing jobs as required by the company’s schedule and customer requirements.

Complete and submit field reports to management in a timely manner.

Perform other tasks and assist in special projects as per supervisor’s request.

Have strong technical product knowledge of large format tanks.

Have a strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving initiative.

Be competent in reading and interpreting technical product drawings & service manuals

Perform all work in a safe, clean, and organized manner.

Report to management any system discrepancies or opportunities for improvement regarding in-house and field operations which may provide continuous improvement.

Be competent in the use of software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and preferably the system’s current server, to appropriately maintain and share company information

Be expected to effectively and professionally communicate, verbally and in written form, with customers, vendors, management, and other coworkers in order to perform the duties of this position.

Be familiar with, understand, and assist in the implementation of all the business policies of OEG Offshore, in order to support and enhance the working environment

Understand and perform the processes as described in the position’s written operating procedures and work instructions.

Facilitate the development of system documents such as operating procedures and work instructions that are needed in the field operations area and support the implementation of such.

Conduct company business as directed by the company’s management and further develop the system in accordance with the company’s mission and quality objectives and goals.

Travel as necessary to conduct company business and represent the company in matters pertaining to the system.
QHSE responsibilities
To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.
Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and experiences
Three to five years of practical experience serving as a product installation/repair technician in the oil and gas industry and/or similar experience.
Qualifications
The minimum educational requirements for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent.
