The role of the Yard Operative is to coordinate and control yard operations to maximise efficiency and to ensure product and service quality is maintained.

The Yard Operative is responsible for maintaining control of workshop activities, ensuring all tasks are performed in line with company procedures.

The Yard Operative will also be required to assist in all areas of Yard Operations, including but not limited to wash bay activities, painting and maintenance.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Service Manager, the Yard Operative will prioritise tasks to ensure all customer requirements are met efficiently.

Participate in morning meetings with the Operations Manager to plan and prioritise workload.

Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the company’s safety, quality, and environmental systems to ensure ongoing compliance and retention of relevant accreditations.

Support the Operations Manager in all general yard operations.

Ensure compliance and enforcement of all company Health and Safety requirements, as set down by HSEQ policies, procedures and risk assessments.

Prepare CCU’s, transportable chemical tanks and Heli fuel tanks.

Prepare CCU’s, transportable chemical tanks and Heli fuel tanks to undergo proof load tests, MPI or third-party inspections.

Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks on CCUs, transportable chemical tanks and Heli fuel tanks, under the guidance of the Operations Manager.

Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the yard, ensuring good husbandry of all yard plant, tools and equipment.

Assist in the wash bay to ensure the stock of clean tanks is maintained to fulfil customer requirements.

Load and unload third-party transport using a forklift truck.

Ensure all safety, environmental and quality controls are thoroughly maintained.

Coordinate additional ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.
QHSE responsibilities
To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.
Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

A valid Forklift Licence (Category B2) is required.

Working at Height certification is preferred.
