Under the terms of the contract, OEG will provide temporary power onboard a jack up vessel for the duration of the offshore converter station commissioning works, using 5 200kVA and 2 300kVA generators running in synchronisation. This bespoke solution enables the generators to provide enhanced temporary power requirements up to 1,400kva to the offshore converter station.
OEG will supply temporary power to support the turbine installation and commissioning phase, comprising of 150kVA generators paired with bespoke OEG 3,000 litre mountable fuel tanks. This compact modular setup maximises the power output to support the client’s asset while minimising the equipment footprint on the transition piece where space is restricted.
Rob Williams, Technical Manager for OEG’s temporary power team, said,
“We have been working closely with the Ørsted construction management team over the last few months to ensure we provide the correct bespoke technical solutions in support of this exciting new project. We look forward to continuing this close collaboration and supporting the project through to completion.”
This latest contract award from Ørsted builds on an existing strong relationship with the client, with OEG’s temporary power team having previously supported the construction phases of both Hornsea 1 and Hornsea 2 offshore wind farms, alongside other Ørsted projects globally.
Alida Lewis, OEG’s Head of Temporary Power, added,
“We are pleased to be collaborating with Ørsted on yet another project and we are excited to expand our support to not only the WTG package, but also the offshore converter station.”
