Recycle the Gulf®

Recycle offshore waste. Create local impact.

Recycle the Gulf® helps Gulf of Mexico operators reduce and recycle offshore waste while creating meaningful employment opportunities through its partnership with The Arc of Acadiana, a Louisiana-based nonprofit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities.

Through Recycle the Gulf®, recyclable materials generated offshore are diverted from the waste stream and delivered to The Arc of Acadiana. There, participants work in a safe, supportive environment tailored to their individual needs and supervised by trained staff. The program provides meaningful employment, builds valuable skills, and generates income for participants and their families. Many have remained with the program for decades, reflecting the lasting value of these opportunities.

Using OEG’s EnviroPak compactors, bags, and balers, recyclable materials are collected, sorted, and compacted onboard offshore facilities before being transported through participating dock facilities to The Arc of Acadiana for processing. Revenue from the recycled materials directly supports the organization’s mission and employment programs, creating lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits for Gulf Coast communities.
