OEG Asia Pacific supports local officials to deliver vital aid to flood-affected villagers. In the face of severe flooding caused by the year-end monsoon season, community spirit shone brightly bringing hope and relief to the residents of Thailand’s Chingkho District Village.
The local OEG team worked in tandem with key representatives from the Chingkho sub-district administrative organisation to ensure that much-needed assistance reached more than 300 households in the hardest-hit areas.
The OEG team based in Thailand coordinated the purchase and packing of essential items that would provide each family with a hamper filled with necessities. The initiative, held on December 24th, was part of the region’s CSR focus on flood relief and community support. The OEG team supported local authorities in delivering the hampers door-to-door helping to alleviate some of the immediate challenges.
During a visit to villagers near the OEG site, officials listened to their concerns and offered support. This personal touch not only provided urgent aid but also helped to strengthen the bond between the authorities and the community. The OEG team also hosted an open house that welcomed authorities and villagers, further reinforcing the sense of unity and collaboration that helps people to recover from disaster. Participants had the opportunity to connect, learn and grow together, embodying the true spirit of community resilience.
As the new year begins, the efforts of these local heroes serve as a reminder of the power of solidarity and compassion in overcoming adversity.
